James H. Cohen represents a wide variety of commercial banks and other financial lending institutions in regard to all types of
commercial loans, including real estate, asset based, and brownfield remediation loans. He regularly advises banks and other clients regarding owned
real estate,
commercial real estate conveyance, foreclosure and
loan workouts.
Mr. Cohen has extensive experience representing both established and start up companies in
commercial leasing, including office, warehouse and retail leases, throughout the Boston metropolitan area and beyond. His experience results in a pragmatic approach to the varied issues that may arise in commercial transactions.

A 1982 graduate of Colgate University, James H. Cohen received his J.D. from Boston University School of Law in 1986, where he was an editor of the law review. After finishing law school, Mr. Cohen joined the
litigation department of the Boston law firm Nutter, McClennen & Fish, and then worked at RECOLL Management Corporation, a Fleet Bank subsidiary, where he handled property leasing, dispositions and foreclosures and other areas involving real estate. Mr. Cohen is a founding partner of Looney Cohen & Aisenberg LLP. In 2006 and 2007, Mr. Cohen was selected as a "Massachusetts Super Lawyer." He is a member of the
bar of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and of the
Boston Bar
